How to play Mud Racers
Choose one of eight circuits and race three CPU buggies over three laps. Your car starts beside the others, facing the racing direction. Shortcuts are legal: choose any drivable route and return across the finish in the racing direction. Rocking back and forth across the line does not add laps.
Controls
Keyboard: hold Z to accelerate. Use the Left and Right arrow keys to steer, X to brake, Down to reverse and Space for a short boost. Escape pauses the race.
Phone or tablet: hold GAS with one finger. With another, drag the steering ball towards the direction you want the car to face. BRAKE slows the car; BOOST uses the regenerating boost meter. Landscape gives you the widest view of the circuit.
Driving and bridges
At speed, the car keeps some sideways momentum when you turn. Ease off the accelerator before a tight corner, then accelerate out of it. The tyre barriers are solid, but brushing them should let you slide along rather than force a recovery. Buggies on different bridge levels pass above and below one another.
The workshop
Finish a race to earn 400 credits for first, 250 for second, 150 for third or 100 for fourth, plus collected crates. Unlock eight car designs or buy three levels of engine, tyre and boost upgrades. Engine upgrades improve acceleration, tyres improve grip, and boost upgrades extend boost duration. Upgrades apply to every car you own. Your credits, upgrades, unlocked cars, selected car and volume setting are saved on this browser and device. Clearing site data removes that progress.
Hazards and pickups
Oil makes cornering slippery; deep mud adds mild drag. Both affect CPU cars too, and normal handling returns when you leave the patch. Boost cans restore 35% of the meter. Credit crates add 25 credits to your finish payout. Pickups reappear after twelve seconds; leaving an unfinished race forfeits its collected credits.
The eight circuits
Horseshoe Run introduces the handling. Arrowhead adds flowing switchbacks, Scallop Sprint threads an infield, and Four Leaf crosses a long raised bridge. Crossroads alternates between bridge levels, Switchback runs under a footbridge, Rally Maze weaves through stacked lanes, and The Spiral finishes with two tightening loops.
Sound and credits
The workshop has an engine-volume slider; dragging it fully left mutes the game. The game pauses when you leave its window. Engine sound begins after you start a race. Background music is disabled.
